“Faces began as a way to bring the same question I explore in painting — the face as a place where multiple, often contradictory things can be true at once — into a medium not bound to a single, physical original. The translation from digital to print changes the image again: colour shifts, texture sharpens, and something of the print’s own materiality gets added on top. Faces is also a way to make art less of a money issue, so owning original work isn’t limited to those who can afford it.”
